My mission in life is to help anyone I can in whatever way I can. I believe I have been blessed with many talents and ministries that are not mine to keep. The Lord has blessed me with these talents and ministries to share with His people. If I can be the catalyst for even the smallest amount of change in the life of one of His children, then I will have done what I believe I was sent here to do.

Accomplishments at Maybry's Temple:

Founding the King's Daughters has been one of my greatest accomplishments. After being bombarded by the news that South Carolina was number one in deaths due to domestic violence, I began to think about the women who find themselves as victims of these acts. I realized immediately that this was not something that happened overnight. There had to be a history of experiences where they felt that this behavior was acceptable. Using the book, "The King's Daughter" by Diana Hagee, I developed a six-month course for young ladies in Maybry's Temple ages 11-19. These girls were instructed from the premise of "I am fearfully and wonderfully made". Their instruction included etiquette for dining, dressing and introductions, self-concept and confidence, getting along with others as well as giving to others.

The King's Daughter's sponsored a tent at the Relay for Life in 2005 and raised over $500.00 for this cause. This course culminated with a graduation where the girls wore formal gowns and were escorted by a male member of their family. It was such a joy to see these girls transformed before my very eyes. I could not have been prouder of them if I was their biological mother.

In the community I am the Commissioner for the Palmetto Boys Scout Pack 26, Education Committee for the Bibleway Worldwide and a Member of Maybry's Temple Bibleway Church. I am the Vice-President of the Western North Carolina Diocese Women's Auxiliary, Foothills/Piedmont District of Western North Carolina Diocese First Lady, Western North Carolina Diocese Minister of Music and First Vice-President International Clergy Wives Bibleway Church.

I graduated from Converse College in 1979 with a degree in Bachelor of Arts in Special Education and Psychology. I was employed at Clifdale Elementary from 1979-1987. From 1987-1988 I was employed at Broome High School. From 1988-1994 I was employed at Chapman High School as a Special Education teacher. During this time I received an Education Specialist degree in Secondary Administration and Supervision. From 1994-1996 I was an Administrative Assistant. In 1996 I became Vice-Principal of Chapman High School and was in this position until 2000. In 2000 I received a promotion to the Administrative Office of Spartanburg County School District One.

I have served as the Coordinator of Middle School Programs, Coordinator of Secondary Programs and currently serve as the Coordinator of Accountability, Student Assessment and ADEPT. I am also an Adjunct Professor at Converse College where I teach graduate level courses to educators. In 2004 I enrolled in the Ph. D program North Central University. I will receive my Ph. D in December 2006.
