Bishop S. Derrall Beason, D.D., Pastor In November 1997 God called Pastor Beason to become pastor of Maybry’s Temple Bibleway Church. He was called to minister to about 25 people. His current membership consists of 150 people and 225 in attendance for morning worship. Since becoming pastor of Maybry's Temple Bibleway Church the following auxiliaries have been established: 1. Youth Department 2. Missionary Department 3. Women’s Ministry 4. Brotherhood Department 5. Outreach Team 6. Brotherhood Choir and Youth Choir (Jackson Ensemble – Named in memory of the late founder of Maybry’s Temple) 7. Bus Ministry 8. Active Sound & Video Crew 9. Usher Board 10. Tutorial Program for school children In 2001 Pastor Beason had a vision for Jack-Bee’s Little Flock Daycare, a 200,000-dollar project. (Licensed with the South Carolina Department of Social Services) There were no children but a lot of faith. Since that time · The daycare has 63 preschoolers and 12 after-schoolers with a capability of caring for 91 children. · The daycare has an Early Headstart program with 16 children currently enrolled. This program is funded through First Steps Grant for Spartanburg County. · The daycare has been expanded from its original 50 children enrollment to 91 children enrollment. These additions have been funded through grants. · The daycare owns two buses and a van used for transporting children. · The daycare has purchased equipment from two daycares that were going out of business. · The daycare receives USDA food supplements. Pastor Beason was a member of the Western District of South Carolina Diocese of Bible Way Worldwide under the leadership of Bishop A.C. Jackson and Bishop Theodore Myers from 1997 to 2001. In 2001 he became a member of the Western North Carolina Diocese of Bible Way Worldwide under the leadership of Bishop Willie E. Rookard. Pastor Beason still serves as a member of the Western North Carolina Diocese. In 2001 Pastor Beason was consecrated as District Elder, which consists of 10 pastors under his leadership. He currently serves as District Elder of Foothills and Piedmont Districts of the Western North Carolina Diocese. He served as National Adjutant from 1999 – 2003. He served as Co-Chief Adjutant from 2003 to 2006 under Bishop Darnell Dixon. He was elected to the office of Bishop in 2008. God has allowed Pastor Beason to accomplish many things here at “The Temple” · 1999 church offices were built · 2000 a fellowship hall was added · 2002 the sanctuary was remodeled · 2005 a park was built for church gatherings and recreation for the children and youth · 2005 a computer lab was developed. Grants funded the lab, which was used for tutorial and senior citizen computer training. · 2008 land behind the church was purchased for a new Community Development Center · 2008 the house beside the church was purchased for additional office spaces and conference room · 2008 received a grant from Clemson University/Spartanburg County Foundation to help people get their GED. In 2007 Pastor Beason added another ministry, MTB House of Bargains located on Highway 176 in Inman. The store offers appliances, lawn and garden, tools, grills, etc. His vision was to help people be able to afford high-end appliances at low-end prices and to service the community. This ministry is church owned and operated and all proceeds benefit the ministry. In 2009 another vision of Dr. Beason’s became reality. “C” Town Community Development Center was completed. This center will serve the community of Campobello and surrounding areas in North and South Carolina. The facility houses 15 classrooms, 2 offices, a full kitchen, and a gymnasium/multi-purpose area. Homes for battered women and people who are transitioning from incarceration back into society and a new sanctuary are the final phases of Pastor Beason’s current strategic plan. Pastor Beason believes and models the slogan of the church, “A Mega Ministry on a Rural Highway”. Pastor Beason is a graduate of Chapman High School, Inman SC, Sanford Technical College, Sanford, NC and Aenon Bible College in Indianapolis, IN (Ministerial courses). He received his Doctorates Degree from St. Thomas Christian College, FL in 2008 He served as a volunteer Fireman for fifteen years. Pastor Beason was Commissioner for Boy Scouts Troop 26 in Spartanburg County. He served on the School Improvement Council committee for Mabry Junior High School. He was a Spartanburg County First Steps Board member. He was also a board member for “Stop the Violence” for two years. He served as Chaplin for the Chapman High School varsity football team where he had weekly Bible study with the team for 12 years. . In 1999 he became a retired employee of Alltel Telephone Company where he was employed. His parents are the late Deacon Roy Beason and Mother Catherine Beason. He was married in October 1979 to Dr. Patricia Perry Beason (Trish). He has two sons, Derrall II and Steven. He is the proud grandparent of three granddaughters, Ka’Derrah, Peyton and Briley, and one grandson, Khamien.
Bishop S. Derrall Beason is the Pastor of Maybry’s Temple Bibleway Church in Campobello, SC. Prior to becoming Pastor in 1997 Pastor Beason served as driver and Adjutant for the Late District Elder Walter Choice from 1984 until his death in 1996 at Greater St. James Temple Holiness Church. He was the church musician (drummer) from 1974 – 1996. Pastor Beason was an associate minister at Greater St. James Temple from 1984 – 1997. He served faithfully as a Sunday school teacher for the Senior Women’s Class from 1986 – 1997. From 1986 – 1992 he was treasurer for Carolina State Council Young People’s Union (PAW). Pastor Beason also served as the president for Young People’s Auxiliary, Greater St. James Temple. He traveled the East Coast as an Evangelist from 1986 – 1997. Under the direction of District Elder Robert Rich, Pastor Beason served as the Interim Pastor in Raleigh North Carolina for three months. He was the chairperson of the Building Committee for construction of a new sanctuary and educational building with the seating capacity of 700 people.
